Never Lose Text is a Chrome extension that helps you automatically save and restore text typed into online forms and text fields. The goal of this extension is to prevent accidental data loss — not to collect or share personal information.

This extension is built with a local-only architecture: all saved text and user settings remain stored in your browser and never leave your device.

Data Collection and Storage

• The extension does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data.
• All captured text and configuration settings are stored locally using Chrome’s storage.local API.
• No data is sent to external servers, third parties, or the developer.
• All data can be cleared at any time through the extension’s settings.

Permissions Explained

• Storage: Used only to store your saved text and settings locally in your browser.
• Tabs: Used to identify the active tab when restoring text or opening a saved page.
• Host permissions (<all_urls>): Required to detect and restore text fields on any website. No site data is collected or shared.

Data Retention

Saved text is automatically removed after a user-defined number of days (default: 7 days) or when the maximum number of entries is reached. Users can adjust these limits or clear all data at any time.

Third-Party Services

This extension does not use or include any third-party services, analytics tools, or remote code. All scripts and assets are packaged within the extension.
